Mr Yau assumed the post of the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development on July 1, 2017. His portfolio covers policy areas from trade, commerce to telecommunications and broadcasting, and from promotion of creative industries, intellectual property and consumer protection to boosting inward investment and tourism development. Mr Yau has his full career in the public service. Before taking up the current post, Mr Yau was the Director of the Chief Executive's Office from 2012 to 2017, assisting the Chief Executive in formulating policies and setting policy goals and priorities. He was the Secretary for the Environment from 2007 to 2012, overseeing policies on environmental protection, energy, nature conservation and sustainable development.
Mr Yau started his civil service career as an Administrative Officer in 1981. During his long service as a civil servant, he held various positions, including Director of Information Services, Deputy Secretary for Education and Manpower, Deputy Director-General of Trade and Industry as well as Director-General of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Washington, DC, USA.
Mr Yau graduated from the University of Hong Kong. He received further education at Oxford University and at Harvard University.

Estyn Chung is the General Manager of Uber for Hong Kong, overseeing local operation and is responsible for growing the business in Hong Kong. Estyn believes that efficient point to point mobility coupled with technology and innovation is not only beneficial to riders in Hong Kong, but is also an integral step to fulfilling Hong Kong’s smart city ambition.
Prior to Uber, Estyn spent over a decade in Investment Banking in Asia and Australia with UBS, a Swiss Bank. He then went on to become a Co-Founder and CEO of CANOPY, a career platform for millennials headquartered in Hong Kong. Estyn led CANOPY’s efforts to become a leading career portal for next generation talent, which included overall responsibility for the strategy, product roadmap, team development and customer acquisition.

Mr Stephen Phillips is the Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), the Government Department responsible for attracting and facilitating foreign direct investment into Hong Kong.
In a career focused on Asia for more than thirty years, Mr Phillips first moved to Hong Kong in 1989 holding senior investment banking positions with Deutsche and BZW/Barclays Capital before co-founding a Hong Kong-based group of companies providing IT, financial and consultancy services across Asia. In 2004, he joined the UK’s Department of International Trade before becoming the Chief Executive of the China Britain Business Council in 2006, as well as Chairman of the EU China Business Association.
Mr Phillips holds a BSc in Chemistry and Law from the University of Exeter.
Abe Smith is the Head of International for Zoom Video Communications. An industry decorated technology executive, Abe is recognized for building high-growth global teams at leading enterprise cloud companies such as Oracle and Cisco where he held senior
roles. Bringing almost two decades of experience in SaaS, Smith is an authority on scaling operations in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Drawing on over 8 years of leadership at WebEX, where he was responsible for pioneering the web-conferencing category across emerging markets globally, Abe joined Zoom in 2019 to accelerate revenue growth while delivering happiness in all markets outside of the USA and Canada. Abe graduated with highest honors from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he studied Political Science with a certificate in International Relations.
The short of the time in London: Abe moved to London in August of 2017 through January of 2019 to serve as President of EMEA for communications and earned media technology firm Cision (at the time, NYSE listed). Based in Canary Wharf, London, he was responsible for all operations across Europe with a dedicated team of roughly 2,000
professionals. Living in St John's Wood, North West London-- close to the Lord's Cricket Stadium and Abbey Road Studios-- he enjoyed his time with his wife, son, daughter and dog Remy (affectionately renamed "Westminister Remy").
Ray Chan is the CEO and co-founder of 9GAG, the global multi-platform entertainment company for viral content. Founded in 2008, 9GAG’s mission is to make the world happier.
9GAG has a global audience of 150 million, including 56 million followers on Instagram, 42 million followers on Facebook, and 16 million followers on Twitter.
Ray graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a degree in Law.
Mr. Graylin is the China President at HTC, leading all aspects of HTC’s business in the region (Vive/VR, phone, content platform, partnerships and investments) and the company’s SW business globally. He is also currently Vice-Chairman of the Industry of Virtual Reality Alliance, President of the $18B Virtual Reality Venture Capital Alliance and oversees the Vive X VR Accelerators in Beijing, Shenzhen and Tel Aviv.
Mr. Graylin has over 28 years of management experience in the tech industry, including 20 years in Greater China. Prior to HTC, he was a serial entrepreneur, having founded four venture-backed startups and has held $100+ million P&L roles at a number of public companies.
Mr. Graylin received his MS in computer science from MIT, MBA from MIT’s Sloan School and BS in EE from the University of Washington, where he had specialized in VR and AI. Mr. Graylin is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Lucille McCart is the APAC Communications Director at Bumble, the dating and networking app where women make the first move.
Starting out in public relations, she quickly rose through the ranks taking the lead on some of Australia's biggest brands, including the likes of Westpac, Mumm Champagne, Neutrogena, Aveeno, Virgin Australia and Specsavers.
It was during her time in agencies that she also worked with Bumble and was part of the early launch phase of the women-first social networking platform from 2017.
After developing a genuine love for the purpose-led brand, Lucille moved across to Bumble in a full-time in-house role in 2019. Taking on the position of Senior Marketing Manager, she was the driving force behind the brand’s partnership and marketing strategy. Nine months in, she was promoted to the role of Country Lead, was then again promoted to APAC Communications Director in February 2021. Lucille now leads the communications strategy for Bumble across Australia, New Zealand, India, and emerging markets in Asia Pacific.
In the four years that Lucille has been working with Bumble, it has gone from a tech start-up to a mainstream brand with a cult following that empowers women to make the first move.

Ryan Lai is the Managing Director of foodpanda Hong Kong, overseeing the market’s business operations. With extensive experience in big data and tech innovation, Ryan leads the growth and strategic development of Hong Kong’s leading online food delivery platform. Prior to foodpanda, Ryan was Head of South East Asia and Head of Category Management of Automotive in Greater China at eBay, where he had successfully built the cross-border commerce ecosystem in Asia, enabling thousands of traditional retailers, distributors, and traders in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and Southeast Asia to reach and connect with an unprecedented global audience. Ryan also channeled his passion and lent his expertise to building and coaching multiple incubated start-ups at the Hong Kong Science & Technology Park on key areas such as omni-channel commerce, big data and micro-influencer marketing.
Shang Chuang is the Chief Financial Officer at Klook, a world-leading travel and leisure activities booking platform. He oversees Klook’s financial functions and drives the company's strategic direction in finance to further empower and support business growth.
Shang has more than a decade of finance, managerial and operational experience. Prior to joining Klook, Shang was a senior executive for Noah Holdings Limited (NYSE: NOAH) for eight years serving various roles including Group CFO and CEO of Noah Hong Kong. Between 2003 to 2010, he served in Investment Banking and Private Equity divisions for Merrill Lynch playing key roles in notable IPO and M&A transactions.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Stern School of Business at New York University. Outside of work, Shang is an avid food lover who enjoys cooking and tasting cuisines from all over the world.
Fion Leung is the Co-founder of Time Auction, a tech-enabled charity that advocates volunteerism. We encourage volunteering with inspiring experiences, while connecting skilled-volunteers with NGOs.
Started as a side project in 2014, Time Auction quickly gained traction among generous donors and young adults. Time Auction became a registered charity in Hong Kong in early 2017 with Fion dedicating herself full-time to the charity and is now leading the international expansion, operations, and continuing the mission to make volunteering a fulfilling and vital part of people’s lives.
Over 83,000 volunteer hours have been contributed by the Time Auction community in 9 cities.
Prior to Time Auction, Fion was Product Evangelist at a media startup, Notey, and Analyst at Barclays after graduating from HKUST with a degree in Business Administration.
Danny Yeung, a serial entrepreneur, is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Prenetics Group, a leading global diagnostics and genetic testing company. With a team of more than 400 and over $60 million in strategic funding from Alibaba, Ping An Ventures, New World Development and others, the group has been pivotal in the fight against COVID-19. To date, Prenetics has performed more than 2 million PCR tests in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom. Prenetics works closely with both governments and came to international fame when it helped resume the season with the English Premier League and set up COVID-19 testing operations in airports globally, including Hong Kong International Airport and Heathrow Airport. The group recently made an acquisition of an Oxford University spin-out company that developed a rapid COVID-19 test, with accurate results in about 20 minutes.
Prior to Prenetics, Danny was the Founding Partner at SXE Ventures having led multiple investments in genetic testing companies. Danny also founded uBuyiBuy in 2010 which was acquired by Groupon. Prior to Danny's departure from Groupon in early 2014, he served as CEO of Groupon East Asia with annual revenue of more than US$ 130 million. Danny’s entrepreneurial journey started at the age of 25 when he ventured into franchising Hong Kong dessert chain Hui Lau Shan into the U.S and execution of multi-million dollar projects with MGM. Danny received his BS in MIS from the University of San Francisco and his life motto is “Play Hard, Work Harder”.
Steven Lam is the Co-Founder and CEO of GOGOX, which was founded in 2013. Steven is responsible for developing the overall business strategy and driving the growth and profitability of the business across the region. This also includes establishing business partnerships and securing funding.
GOGOX is committed to making daily lives easier, through decreasing idling time of drivers by efficiently connecting drivers and users using its platform. GOGOX has expanded rapidly in recent years from Hong Kong to Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Mainland China and India. Steven is the CEO and is responsible for the development of the overall business strategy.
Steven brings with him a wealth of entrepreneurial skills. Prior to founding GOGOX, Steven started BoxAd in 2010, an advertising company which advertises on lunchboxes in Hong Kong. Steven earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on global management from the University of California, Berkeley - Walter A. Haas School of Business.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Ryan graduated from BBA (Accounting and Finance), The University of Hong Kong. He started his career as an investment banker. At his age of 26, he joined Leonteq Securities AG as the youngest Director in Asia, responsible for structured solutions business and expanding its Asia franchise. Leonteq is a leading and disruptive expert for structured investment products supported by its market-leading technology platform listed on SIX Swiss Exchange.
Before founding PressLogic, Ryan saw the online technology boom so he quitted the bank, and set up an e-commerce company where he met his partner, Edward. Mr Cheung has been actively contributing back to society and the startup community. As a startup pioneer, he is a mentor of iDendron Incubation Program by the University of Hong Kong since 2019; and a Melo CEO of Project Melo (pilot class of 2021), a programme nurturing a new generation of Hong Kong leaders.

Andy Lee has almost 25 years of startup and corporate management experience across Asia Pacific and international markets. The red thread running through Beth’s career has been telling stories that inspire and engage others to take action. She’s been CMO of a Singapore-based fintech startup, learning invaluable lessons when they folded in the first year. She spent thirteen years at SWIFT, the world’s leading provider of secure financial messaging services. Starting at their headquarters in Belgium, she ran global internal and then external corporate communications. She moved into product management to grow a new business intelligence line, but was brought back into communications to build a team for the fast-growing Asia Pacific region, based in Hong Kong. Accomplishments such as a thought leadership strategy around RMB internationalization and cross-border financial integration increased earned media tenfold and expanded the regional stakeholder ecosystem. Side gigs included leading a new sales team for Tier III banks and running partner management.
Prior to joining SWIFT in 2001, Beth worked in the US and Europe, including with the US Department of Commerce, the European Commission, the 2000 Gore presidential campaign, and the NATO 50th Anniversary Summit.
In between marketing and communications projects for companies such as Western Union, she’s pursuing her PhD in International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies because that’s good for her storytelling chops. Her dissertation is about the weaponization of global payment systems and unintended consequences for economic statecraft. Collecting plastic windup toys (1200+ and counting) is her not-so-secret obsession.

Bolor-Erdene Battsengel is the Chairwoman of the Government of Mongolia’s Communication and Information Technology Authority, the youngest and first female to hold this position. As the youngest leader in the current Cabinet, she crafted the five-year plan to transform Mongolia into a “digital nation”. In her first few months, Battsengel launched the ‘E-Mongolia’ platform that digitized 181 popular government services for easy public use. Raised in the countryside herself, Battsengel started the Girls for Coding program to train young girls from rural areas in Mongolia to learn coding. She studied public policy at Oxford and previously worked at the World Bank, United Nations, Asian Development Bank, and Cabinet Office of the United Kingdom. Charles Bhatana, founding member, shareholder and CEO of The Jobs Laboratory (JobsLab). Prior to this, he was a Managing Partner at Lighthouse Alpha, a leading executive search firm in the financial sector in Asia. Prior to this he was Managing Director at Huthart Group, one of the top executive search firms in Hong Kong. He started his career at McKinsey in London after graduating with a Masters degree in Economics and Political Science from the London School of Economics.
Mr. Chester Szeen is the Co-Founder of Mellow, a gamified chores, pocket money, and financial education mobile app for kids aged 6 to 15 and their parents. Mark Munoz is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Vectr Fintech and also serves as a Venture Partner at Vectr Ventures.
He is a financial technology veteran, with over two decades experience building, advising and investing in companies that have shaped the booming fintech ecosystem around the world. Prior to launching a leading venture capital fund he founded multiple companies and exited each successfully. Prior to a career in financial services Mark was a political consultant to several US Congressional and Senate members.
Mark graduated with a BA in Government Studies and a BA in Philosophy from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
With over 25 years of experience driving growth and building organizational capability to innovate and transform with firms like Procter & Gamble, Cisco and Avery Dennison, Martin comes with world leading hands-on knowledge and experience turning new concepts and ideas into real business outcomes. In 2006, Martin relocated to China to start up the Asia Pacific Innovation Center for a Fortune 500 company.
While a seasoned practitioner of innovation leadership and management, Martin is also an experienced entrepreneur. Creating an innovation center that was voluntarily funded each year by its business stakeholders changed the way Martin thought about enabling business growth and drove him to start his own business helping others think differently about how they lead and manage teams to bring new value propositions to market. In 2012 he began his own innovation practice, working closely with senior business leaders in firms like Johnson & Johnson, Intel, Cisco, L’Oréal, Auchan, Inchcape, and others. Contracted with Cisco Services as their Senior Innovation Architect, Martin was tasked to develop and deploy a ground-breaking business growth program. In 2013, that program was awarded the HBR/McKinsey M-Prize for “Innovating Innovation”, and within 18 months had dramatically changed the way Cisco’s Services businesses create, manage and implement their growth initiatives. This program continues to be deployed more broadly across Cisco Systems globally.
Since 2012, Martin has been working with Fortune 500 firms in China to design and deliver incubation and acceleration programs. More specifically, he designed and rolled out the idea acceleration programs for Intel China’s Ideas2Reality Program, which receive the International Innovation Award in 2017 from Enterprise Asia. Martin also designed and deployed programs for Johnson & Johnson’s Emerging Market Innovation Center and Honeywell China’s Idea Incubator. In 2018, Martin joined the Fung Group as the SVP of Strategy and Business Practices there.
As a strong believer in growth mindset and continuous development, Martin has spent the last 5 years of his career focusing on organizational transformation and what he like to call Change Realization. This focus led Martin to take on the challenge at the Fung Group and is the driving force behind his current portfolio of organizational and digital transformation projects across Asia with firms like Huhtamaki, Thermo Fisher, Novartis and others.

Qinwen Xiao is the Senior Director of Visa Business Solutions at Visa, based in Hong Kong. He leads product development and market engagement for Visa Commercial products in Hong Kong, and Visa B2B Connect, a platform designed to give financial institutions a secure, fast and predictable way to process cross-border B2B payments, in the Greater China area.
Prior to Visa, Qinwen was the Director of Payments Markets at SWIFT, based in Singapore and Hong Kong, looking after SWIFT’s cross-border payments and Payment Market Infrastructures (PMIs) business for Asia Pacific. Prior to SWIFT, Qinwen held various roles in Bloomberg in Singapore, Telefonica in Madrid, and startups in Asia.
Qinwen holds a Master of Science in Computation for Design and Optimization from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and a Master of Science in Computational Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Qinwen speaks Mandarin Chinese and English.
